Police officer recovering after being shot with arrow

A policeman is recovering after being injured when a volley of arrows forced officers to take cover while responding to a disturbance in Adelaide's north-west.

Police were called to a business on Circuit Drive, Hendon, at around 7.30pm on April 30, 2017, after a man raised concerns about his brother's behaviour and welfare.

Police allege that as they were arriving, the man shot several arrows at officers, who were forced to run and hide behind their patrol car.

A junior police officer, 23, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital after being hit in the upper thigh.

A 47-year-old man is being held under the Mental Health Act, and has been charged with acts to endanger life, aggravated assault to cause harm, property damage and carrying an offensive weapon.
