Police from the New South Wales town of Mudgee are hoping an offer of a $100 000 reward, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer of 17-year-old girl Michelle Bright, will bring to light new information in their investiagation.

Miss Bright was last seen in the New South Wales town of Gulgong in the early hours of Friday 26 February 1999. She had been to a party with friends and was dropped off in the town's main street at around 1am.Miss Bright's parents reported her missing the following day when she had not returned home.

The body of Miss Bright was discovered a few days later, on March 2. It was found dumped in long grass on Barney's Reef Road, about 2 km out of Gulgong.

Mudgee Crime Manager Inspector David Payne said police were frustrated they had not been able to find those responsible for Michelle's death.

**"Michelle's murder has had a devastating impact on such a small town. It is quite possible there are people who know who is responsible for this murder but haven't provided information to police.**
**"It has been very frustrating for police, and for Michelle's family, that we have not received more information. Someone out there knows who did this," Inspector Payne said.**

At the time of her disappearance, Michelle was wearing maroon jeans, a black top, black lace-up Doc Martens and a blue and white checked jacket.

Fourteen males, have provided police with blood and hair samples for DNA testing as part of the investigation, but police say they have no suspects for the murder.

Reward information

The NSW Government will pay a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Michelle Bright.
